Gildenarch — The Fallen City
Gildenarch is the central location of Crimson Moon. Per the official Steam store page:
"The city of Gildenarch has fallen. Once a holy jewel, it is overrun by demons, undead, vampires, and Hellgrowth abominations."
What Gildenarch is now
A fallen holy city overrun by:
"Humanity's last hope is the Order of the Crimson Moon, and its most feared weapon is you."
The Wards
Per the official How Runs Work post:
"From there, you'll enter one of Gildenarch's Wards. Each Ward is made up of multiple replayable missions featuring enemies, elite encounters, mini-bosses, secrets, valuable loot, and a powerful boss waiting at the end."
A Ward is a section of Gildenarch with its own missions, enemies, and end-boss. The War Table at Sanctus Clypeus lets you select which Ward to enter next.
Specific Ward names are not in any official source. This section will be updated once the community surfaces them from gameplay.
What you do in Gildenarch
The game's core activities in Gildenarch are described across multiple official sources:
Hellgrowth
One specific enemy type is named in the official Crusade Begins dev log:
"the fallen city of Gildenarch, the Nephilim, the Hellgrowth, and the horrors spreading through the streets beyond the walls."
Hellgrowth is treated as a distinct category — likely a corrupted/abomination type, distinct from standard demons, undead, and vampires. Specific Hellgrowth enemy names and behaviors are not in any official source.
